Fiddle & Country Music Jam   Held every 2nd & 4th Friday of each month from 7:00 to 9:30 pm, Located at the Bethel Christian Church on 750 Stevens St. in Bristol, CT.  Sing along, dance or clap to the music. Coffee and light refreshments available. $4 Admission fee, ($6 for special concerts).  Listen to old tyme favorites on guitar, fiddle, banjo, accordion, harmonica & more. Musicians Welcome! We usually play a few group tunes then everyone gets a chance to perform a solo or in small groups (only if you want to).

Hot Fiddles   Hi! We are Sharon and Susie, and we both play the fiddle. We have both been playing since we were six. One of the things we do to pay for fiddle camp and lessons is we perform. We play 1 to 3 hour performances in the Hartford, CT area. The types of music we play are Old Tyme, Canadian, Texan, and Irish. We can play the following types of songs: Waltz, Jigs, Reels, Rags, Hornpipes, Polkas, and a few more.

Powder Mill Barn  Converted by Ralph Sweet for Square Dancing in 1959, this rental hall is now a favorite spot for Contra and Square Dancing.  Located in Enfield, CT at 32 South Maple Street near Rt. 91 & Rt. 190. Traditional Square Dancing & Contras - Fun - Live Music - No lessons Required!  Mostly 2nd & 4th Sundays.

Rosin the Bow specializes in Celtic, Bluegrass, and American traditional music. Rosin the Bow presents an amiable, upbeat, multi-textured sound.  Grant Day is an award winning 5-string banjo player. He also plays guitar and bass. Marta is a competitive Bluegrass and Olde Tyme fiddler, who started as a classically trained violinist. 

The Reel Thing a western Connecticut-based musical group which specializes in contra dances, live, costumed, authentic 18th century colonial dances and concerts, traditional dance workshops for children and adults, and family or community "barn" dances.

Fiddler Magazine  Our aim is to provide an informative, educational, and entertaining resource for fiddlers, accompanists, and appreciative listeners. Each issue features a different region or style of fiddling, as well as plenty of other articles and columns: "The Practicing Fiddler," Fiddle Tune History, On Improvisation, Violin Makers, instructional books & videos, and recordings.

Hartford Community Dance   Make your feet happy -- Take them dancing! HCD sponsors contra, Cajun/Zydeco, swing, and waltz dances in the Hartford, CT area. All HCD dances are smoke and alcohol free. Beginners are welcome. No partner is needed -- Come alone or bring a friend! A contra jam is held from 5:30 -7:30 prior to the dance, all musicians are invited.

Country Song and Dance Society  is a national organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of English and Anglo-American traditional and historical folk dance, music and song. They sell "hard to find" recordings, books and videos and run summer music programs.  

The New England Fiddle Contest   A well-known rite of Spring for thousands of Greater Hartford residents, as well as for attendees from throughout the Northeast which began in 1974.  Check out their website for photos & MP3's. 

Connecticut Audubon Fiddle Contest   Join us for the annual Connecticut Audubon Society Fiddle Contest held each September! Our fabulous fiddle contest showcases musicians from 5 to 87 years old.  Our “Best Bid” Auction features an Ovation guitar, gift certificates, gift baskets, and lots of other fun and useful things. Please bring your own chair. For families, adults, picnickers and everyone in between. Outdoors if fair, indoors if raining. 

Old Fiddler's Club of Rhode Island  It has been the custom of fiddle players for ages to get together and play fiddle tunes and learn new ones. On August 4th, 1929 , a group of fiddle players met at Waterman's Hall, Greenville, R.I. for the purpose of forming a "Club for Fiddling" to promote and keep alive the interest in old-fashion music.

The Northeast Fiddlers Association, Inc., is a non-profit organization comprised of fiddlers, other musicians and supporters located in the Northeastern Regions of North America. They are sponsors of The National Traditional Old Tyme Fiddlers Contest which is held every year during the last weekend of September in Barre, VT.
